Out Of Control

In public sidewalks and plazas, in front of a plain background, participants are invited to be tickled in front of a high-speed video camera, capturing a closeup of them going from straightfaced to ticklish chaos, at 500 frames per second. These detailed, slow-motion portraits are projected on large 8'x 8' walls, two at a time, as a video-installation.

Through Out of Control, we see communities on the level of uncontrolled biological reflex. Largely as a response to the narrow range of self-expression via photographs proliferated through Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, Out of Control is not about reproducing the dominant codes of "beauty", "power" and "cool", just the chaos of our physioanatomy in untamed expression...in ways that people have never seen themselves before.
