Tempo huManu

16mm B&W Time-lapse, at a rate of 1 frame per minute, for three hours.

Tempo is Latin for time: space / motion. This is the pulse of our existence.

Manu is Latin for hands. Arguably, it is also where the word human comes from. In Afro-Brazilian culture, for example, hands are sacred. They give us the ability to shape the world around us.

The duality between Light and Dark has been with us since the dawn of civilization. In Tempo huManu we see the human, within the shadow of power, enduring the span of time to keep his hands in the light. Tempo huManu is documentation and allegory at the same time.
